According
to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has opened negotiations with the largest U.S. cable
operators. The objective is clear: to convince them to add their content to the
Apple TV, or even a future television lettuce.
These players are a must in the United States. They provide the most watched programs and also fund the successful series. If Apple wants to release a solid offer TV, the company must provide users with direct access to these channels, but also they offer programs on demand.
Cable operators would not let themselves easily tame however and no agreement has yet been signed. They would not be very motivated to let Apple into the world of television. I must say that the previous music has something to worry about: the iTunes store is now a powerful player and unavoidable.
